GE Artesia Bank has a long history. How does that affect the way you do business today?
We’re actually even older than our parent company, GE: we’ve been providing clients with a personal, professional service for over 135 years. Our account managers tend to stay with us for a long time, ensuring that you receive the continuity of service you need.
How are you different to the big banks?
We’re a good-sized bank – but not so big that we’ve lost the personal touch. This unique combination allows us to provide a full spectrum of services designed to meet your specific needs. Flexibility isn’t just an empty catchword at GE Artesia Bank: it’s been an integral part of our client approach for 135 years.
How does GE Artesia Bank fit in with General Electric, which was originally an industrial concern?
GE is a highly diversified group, and has a very large financial services division, which accounted for some 50% of its revenue in 2007. The bank is the perfect complement to the group’s other financial operations.

Are you part of an international network?

Where are you based?
Our head office has been on the Herengracht in Amsterdam since 1872. We also have six branches in the Netherlands offering both corporate and private banking services.
What kind of company is General Electric?
It was established in 1876 by Thomas Edison, the inventor of the lightbulb, and has a long history of innovation. Today, its portfolio has expanded to include such businesses as financial services and media, and it’s also a leading manufacturer of such products as medical systems, aircraft engines, wind turbines and trains. We were one of the first to use MultiVersa, the internet banking system now used by most banks. This offers such facilities as cash pooling, and also allows you to set up deposits and apply for loans online.

Yes. SEPA, the Single Euro Payments Area, allows you to make efficient, low-cost payments within the European Union.
