Case Studies

The best people to speak about our expertise and the way we operate are our clients and employees.
This section of the website is designed to give a realistic picture of what GE Artesia Bank can do for you.

Private Banking

In choosing Private Banking, you want to be absolutely sure that the people in charge do their utmost to protect your assets. How do they go about that? We posed the question on your behalf to the specialists in the Private Banking division …

"In private banking, we manage our clients’ assets and advise them on how to put them to best use depending on their situation. We provide bespoke investment products, mortgages and tax structures. Because we deal with a relatively small number of clients, we can gain a detailed picture of their individual situation and the opportunities available to them.

An example of best practice: we recently visited a client who’d just sold his business and wanted to invest his assets. We set up an investment portfolio for him and placed part of his funds on deposit. During our discussions, he also happened to mention that he wanted to buy a new, bigger apartment. We were able to arrange direct financing for this purchase too.
During a time of rapid change, it’s particularly important to maintain regular contact with clients, keeping them informed of market developments and anticipating these as much as possible. Because our parent company General Electric is so highly capitalized, we’re able to offer clients a safe home for their savings."

To realise your financial goals, you can bank on the expert knowledge and experience of the people inside Private Banking. You are invited to make an appointment at your local branch of GE Artesia Bank.

Trade and Commodity Finance

Of course you’d like to know more about all the possibilities for financing your trade transactions. We asked the Trade and Commodity Finance department at GE Artesia exactly how they operate …

"We specialise in financing trade transactions for large and medium-sized businesses. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution: every transaction is unique, and so is the financing. It’s not just about the technicalities of the transaction; it’s also about understanding the local market and economy, incoterms, European legislation and even having the right social skills – all of which we’re very good at!

An example of best practice: we had a client recently who wanted to export trucks to Africa. We were able to advise them on using letters of credit for purchases and sales, shipping facilities, country risk confirmations and delivery terms, so the whole transaction went as smoothly as possible. Once the structure was clear and acceptable to all parties, lots of other deals followed.
We’ve also handled transactions involving steel from Brazil, grain from Ukraine, nuts from China, oil for the bunker markets in Western Europe and Singapore, and chemicals from China. A lot of others have been set up as international commodity trade finance transactions. We like to assess each situation on its own merits. "

This tailor-made approach to trade financing meets the needs of many business owners. For more information, please contact the GE Artesia Trade and Commodity Finance Team in Rotterdam.
