A bank with a rich heritage

GE Artesia Bank was established in 1872, the result of a merger between Nederlandsche Crediet- en Depositobank and Banque de Paris under the name Banque de Paris et des Pays-Bas. Throughout the course of its long history, it has displayed the same spirit of enterprise that has made the Netherlands so prosperous: like the nation in which it is based, it is small in size, but big in ambition.

Starting from a single office in Amsterdam, GE Artesia Bank has expanded to become a leading player in private and corporate banking, with six branches in the Netherlands. It has become an increasingly powerful force thanks to its pioneering spirit and international vision. The bank gained its current name after itself being acquired by one of the world’s largest companies, General Electric, allowing it to add even more value by giving clients access to detailed expertise in areas outside banking.
